Metaphysical Gifts:
For many it appears during our childhood. And for quite many they also fade once they have reached 6-7 years old, and the open connection you had to your intuition or your "imaginary friends" suddenly stops. The mind can be a very powerful ally or your greatest enemy, which is why we adapt mostly to our surroundings.
We start to think logically about things, or assume there must be a natural cause for this. I have encountered those whom were especially gifted when they were younger, but then chose to close a lid over their abilities. Their answers have been very similar "I was so scared" "My parents wouldn't believe me" "I had constant scary dreams of people or beings wanting me to join them."
The outcome of these lids can go three ways, 1: As you grow older the gifts you had as a child slowly creeps through the lid and reawakens at a pace you are more fit to handle. 2: Your previous abilities simply fades away from your consciousness and you forget you ever had them. 3: The lid only works for a couple of years, and then gradually comes before you as you continue to believe in things that are not "ordinary".
For me number three is very fitting, I never stopped believing in what was beyond my physical sight. I still held a strong belief yet there were my earliest "teachers" in the Rasberry Realm as I used to call it, that I walked by back and forth from home to school.
